I&#039;d like to share my error message so the next person who experiences it will have a better chance of finding your page. 

&lt;i&gt;Argument &quot;SMTP&quot; for option &quot;connection&quot; is not valid.  The command line parameters are invalid.  The step failed.&lt;/i&gt;

Surprisingly Google didn&#039;t lead me here but Bing did! Who knew?</description>

		<description>Thanks for the solution. I ran into the same issue using both SQL Server 2005/2008. I removed the extra quotes and escape lines and that did the trick.</description>
